YOU (THURS)
- How you’re always happy in the morning when you wake up. And how (if you’ve made it through the night and I’m greeting you in your crib) the first thing you do is flash me a huge smile and then point repeatedly at the ground where your pacifer (paci) lay saying “pee-bee, pee-bee!”.
- How still you are in my arms for after bath snuggles with you wrapped up in a huge towel while Wyatt takes advantage of the (now) completely free tub and splashes and “swims”.
- How independent of an eater you are.
- How MESSY of an an eater you are.
- The fact that you try to be just like your brother Wyatt.
- How you still always want to be held
- When you say “Oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!”
- When Wyatt yells at you or hurts your feelings and you run straight to me crying “ma-maaaaaaaa”.
- How you (and Wyatt) love to mow the grass with daddy or pappy.
- Your love of the outdoors.
YOU (WYATT)
- How INSANELY bossy you are to your brother. How it drives me absolutely crazy.
- How eager you are to do the simplest of chores.
- Your love for all things mechanical.
- The fact that you are already taking things apart so that you can learn how they work and “fix” them.
- That you are the SLOWEST eater to ever live.
- That you share my (ridiculous) love of Chipotle. If only for the chocolate milk.
- That we can take you anywhere without any real pause for concern — even funeral visitations that last for 2.5 hours — you are the best little boy.
- Your extreme passion and emotion.
- Your complete lack of interest in potty-training despite both Paw Patrol underwear and Mm’s…
- Your love of the outdoors.
ME
- Excited by cooler morning and evenings. Making a effort to get out and walk more.
- Finding joy in small things: like spontaneous picnics at a new park super close to home. And just strolling around people watching with my boys.
- Still eating too much sugar…
- Spontaneous Chipotle dates with my boys at 8:45pm — after a 12 hour work day and almost 3 hour family function.
- Continuing to ‘scroll’ less and leave my phone in the next room more.
- Still taking (and editing) so many photos. :)
- Setting aside time for more self care.
