Awhile back I posted on Instagram confessing just how ridiculously far behind on organizing + printing our family photos I was. I desperately wanted some advice from some veterans, experts, you name it — but alas, I got crickets…

Anywho, never fear! Because while I would be the first to tell you I have very little about my life “figured out” — I believe this is one of those things.

I reference my Instgram a lot here on this blog largely because it’s my new age version of a scrap book.  I like to use it to document the everyday of our lives.  We rarely forget cameras for those big moments, you know like: weddings, graduations, etc. But all too often I think it’s easy enough to forget to capture the little moments of the everyday.  Things I definitely never want to forget.  You know, like finding 22 ammo and ketchup packets in the washing machine or listening to ham radio on a Sunday morning with my boys over breakfast. ;)

That’s why when I learned about Chatbooks, I sort of kind of freaked.  Like in a good way kind of freaked. Like stand up and do a happy dance right away [maybe even at work] kind of freaked.

So the way Chatbooks works is that you can sync your Instagram account to their app and create 60 page photo books for $6. Yes, you read that right.  Six freaking dollars!

The even more awesome part is that you can set up an on going series [I’ve titled ours: Our Life in Squares] and it will automatically add your new Instagram posts to a book in the series.  Then when that book reaches its fill [60 photos on 60 pages] it will automatically print and ship to your house… for six dollars.

I feel like this is unheard of! And while I’m still working on getting full size prints for all our family photos printed and stored for safe keeping + viewing for the long run… this gives me exactly what we need right now:  Peace of mind that I’m getting some really good photos printed and displayed in an awesome way… automaticallyfor six dollars.

Are  you as obsessed as I am now? You’re welcome. :)

This is not a sponsored post.  Chatbooks has not prompted me to write this blog post nor am I being compensated in anyway.  I just really, really like their product and want to share the awesomeness. Cool beans?

Great idea! Ironic that I quit Instagram and Facebook last July (after being completely obsessed) for the purpose of redefining my family and not being obsessed with capturing moments for everyone else to see and comment on. Yet, as a result, I now don’t have all of my well documented favorite moments with captions!! Just curious — do the photo books print the captions as well or just the photos? My kids always think the captions are the best part of looking back at the Insty photos. If not, it sounds like a good assignment for my 10 year old to write them in along the sides of the book. It would be an even better keepsake than if it were typed! Thanks for sharing!

Yes! You have the option of including the captions when printed or not (another aspect I love.) I opted for not printing the captions because I liked the super simple look. And because, much like you, I thought if I ever wanted to add them I would write them for a way cooler effect ;)

My husband Nate and I have seven children and we built this company, Chatbooks, because we weren’t making scrapbooks for our kids or even printing pictures anymore. But we were Instagraming! It makes us so happy to see others loving Chatbooks as much as we do! Thank you for your blog post. Would you mind if I quote you as a testimonial?

I absolutely don’t mind, quote away! You truly have created something unique so thank you for making it such an awesomely obtainable product. My whole family now gets excited when I tell them another “chatbook” is on the way. :)
