I remember shortly after I had Wyatt I had this realization: no matter how many blog posts I read, how many lists I consulted, there was just no way I was ever going to know what baby products were going to work for us until we “tested the waters” a little bit.
I wished then and there that we’d bought it all used. The high chair, the stroller, the bouncy seat, the swing, the list goes on… I never realized how sick you could get of looking at all the cutesy things around you. Stay away from woodland animal playards! Never realized that lamby-lamb bouncy seats could trigger buyer’s remorse. That the only Vitamin D drops that you can get in a grocery store suck. That high chairs take up so much room.
Anywho. We’re two babies in now and I feel like I’ve learned a thing or two (haha, I so didn’t mean to do that). I would still recommend starting out with hand me down items or things bought second hand, and then — once you’ve got a feel for it all — go and buy those bigger items. The ones that will be apart of your everyday for quite awhile. Things that should work extremely well and things you should like using.
But that’s just my two cents! Below are a list of things I love using everyday. Some are a case of hindsight and some, whadduya know, I got right the first time! ;)
3. Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap (waaay cheaper at the grocer)
4. Aden + Anais swaddle blankets
7. Coconut oil
8. Baby Bjorn bouncer (Craigslist find)
10. Solly baby wrap
And a few more bonus items that I didn’t think of when I made that killer graphic above…
12. Booster seat
13. 4moms playard (another Craigslist find)
What are your favorite baby products?
