When we moved into our old farmhouse even though it had a giant kitchen one drawback was that there was no pantry. While a pantry was not a kitchen staple in the early 1900s when our farmhouse was built, I think it is safe to say that in today’s world it definitely is at least a borderline must!
We were fortunate enough to have to inherited an awesome antique wardrobe from Nick’s great grandma. So the moment that it made its way into our kitchen while moving, we fell in love with the idea of it as our pantry! It would need only just a few shelves and we were set…
I’m also fortunate enough to have a husband who was happy to assist me in making this a reality i.e., Nick measured, cut and installed the shelves for me. Haha. But it really is that simple. We had some spare wood lying around in our barn but you can always get yours, needed for the shelving, at your local hardware store.
Like I said, just measure cut and install the shelves and voila, you’ve turned a not so needed wardrobe into a functional pantry!
Now if I can just work on Nick to give up the pop…
