Highs this week | Without a doubt getting to see baby girl in a 3-D ultrasound. I went in for a ‘routine’ growth ultrasound so I was in no way expecting to see this/do this as it never happened during either pregnancy with our boys.  It always seemed like something extra? Something you even scheduled separately? At an entirely different location? (And even came at an additional cost?)  So, needless to say, when the monitor switched to a 4-way split view and a perfect, small, little face appeared in the bottom right quadrant — I was completely taken a back.

Lows this week | Minor anxiety surrounding a recently scheduled (by my doctor) induction date.  I’ve been in the process of switching ob/gyns and finally (at the 34 week mark — yaaaay…)  get to meet and discuss things more thoroughly with my doctor.  The scheduling was framed as a placeholder because of obvious logistical needs, but never the less left me feeling out of control of my own care.  I’ve been able to process all of this over the weekend (through great discussion and conversation with Nick) so that I am left feeling confident and at peace with the decisions to which we have come.

Miss anything? | That feeling you get when you hug someone and feel like you couldn’t possibly get any physically closer to them.  I know my belly is an extension of me, but it’s also so protruding (or Donna Jean’s presence so unmistakable) that it truly does feel like I’m sandwiching another human being in between another’s embrace most of the time.

Movement | Loving feeling her little knees, feet and elbows actually pop out from my stomach. Her movements are just so huge so much of the time.

Happy or moody most of the time? | Happy!

Looking forward to | A baby ‘sprinkle’ this weekend with my closest family and friends!

Sleep | I’ve been sleeping so much better.  I figured out that if I fold my body pillow in half and only shove it between my knees it supports my hips much better than just trying to extend the pillow across the length of my body.  My belly is now so big it simply rests comfortably on the bed while laying on my side – haha!

Food cravings | Still battling another round of sugar cravings… (such is my life — pregnant or otherwise) If you have any suggestions for that one I’m all ears!  It’s by far the worst in the afternoon hours after lunch…

Weird pregnancy moment | Still nothing good to share this week!

Labor signs | Still just the braxton hick’s contractions I’ve been having for weeks/months now.

Belly button in or out?  | Well, I would still argue half in, half out and mostly just disappeared — but that last photo above seems to demonstrate that my belly button be full on poppin’ . Haha!

Weight gain | 27 lbs

Favorite maternity clothes | Fun stuff: I decided to round up/finalize a maternity capsule wardrobe that I will be sharing with you next week!  In the meantime, you may (or may not have) noticed a new “Shop” section in the main navigation of my blog!  I’ve spent sometime pulling together some of my favorites that you can shop (via affiliate link) if you too find yourself in need. In this ‘shop‘ section you can browse: clothing, clothing care, home, kid, baby, and beauty products as well as books I love.  I do hope you find it useful!
