YOU (THURS)
- Talking all of the time now.
- The CUTEST run. (Neck scrunched down into your shoulders, arms swinging wide and feet high!)
- Love helping me cook and bake in the kitchen.
- Fell asleep in the sling the other day while I was power-washing air conditioner units. (Haha, hashtag winterizing)
- “NO Wyatt, NO!”
- Just absolutely loving to read. Nighttime favorite is ‘Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site’
- Enjoying shapes puzzles
- Obsessed with flashlights
- Adores Pappy’s old metal tractor + trailer toy
- Want to wear your yellow rain boots day + night, inside or out
- They way you want me to whisper in your ear at night while rocking you to sleep, “Wyatt’s going nye-nye, daddy’s going nye-nye, mommy’s going nye-nye, mammie’s going nye-nye…”
- And the way you just grunt after I conclude our bedtime prayer with “Amen”, haha!
- The way you continue to lean into me upon meeting someone new. Might must be the best feeling in the world. :)
- Very reserved in new situations. Extremely loud and hilarious in familiar settings.
- The way you ask to be “baby” after bath. :) You love to be wrapped up in a big towel and cuddled for a long time.
YOU (WYATT)
- Repeating EVERYTHING. Even scolding your toys and telling them to play nice. Haha.
- You’re going to be my rule follower, for sure. If I set your sippy down on the couch you are quick to remind me that it doesn’t go on the couch… it goes on the end table.
- BUT. Oh my word are you ever testing boundaries. Testing boundaries like you wouldn’t believe!
- Going to be an excellent leader: confident, forward and persistent.
- Not afraid to make you’re own fun — extremely innovative and vivid imagination.
- The BEST little helper. Seriously the best. Everything from vacuuming and dusting, to scrubbing down doors to splitting/loading/unloading firewood. Favorite? Leaf blowing ;) (However seriously dislike picking up your toys….)
- Also loving your (blue) rain boots — and putting them on and off all on your own. :)
- Over the weekend I was having a particularly rough time with being overwhelmed. You caught me crying in the kitchen, relieving some emotion, and you said to me, “Mommy, why are you crying?” I told you, “I’m just a little overwhelmed, but I think all I really need is a Wyatt hug.” You said, “Oh, sure mommy!” You threw your arms around me and then while you had your them wrapped tight around my neck said, ” Mommy, I’m just really proud of you.” :)
- I think this may the most challenging period of parenthood for me yet. The highs and lows are definitely taking me for a ride and somedays the typical three year old testing boundaries scene feels a whole lot more like deliberate disobedience… And am I totally screwing this all up?
- But oh my goodness if I don’t just have the best three year old around.
ME
- Digging deeper on this whole I keep wanting more clothes thing.
- Slowing my words and deepening my breaths.
- Considering starting yoga again…
- Drinking two lattes a day now…
- Scared and excited by dreams and plans that God has laid heavy on my heart.
- Feeling like I’m getting more done than ever… but falling behind more than ever as well. (How is that at all possible?)
- Needing more sleep, date nights, coffee — and wanting less TV, noise and clutter.
- Praying for the determination to start blogging more regularly.
