Ha! And there you have it. Never thought you’d get to see what it would look like if a smurf designed a bathroom, did ya? Well now you know!
Yikesss.
Last week I shared with you some progress we made in the kitchen. And while I’m really excited to keep pushing and moving forward there, it is likely that it won’t be our next big project. Don’t get me wrong, we’ll keep ticking away at it little by little (as we do with all our countless home projects) but likely the next big project we’ll tackle will be our 1st floor bath.
It’s always been pretty high on our to do list, with a growing family and all, but over the winter it took a violent shove to center stage. Over the winter our pipes froze on the main level and then burst. Fortunately the only pipe that was damaged was the one to the mammoth jetted tub — leaving our toilet and sink in working order. Yeah… And then you have the mass drywall damage from the winter before that when our gutters froze up and water started backing into the walls…
Say it with me, “Ahh… The joys of owning an older home.” ;)
Anyway. Nick told me then to start scheming for a new bathroom and I am just now finally getting around to doing so. I had absolutely no idea what I had in mind for this space until I happened across this bathroom remodel by Brittany over on BrittanyMakes.
Oh. My. Gosh. I’m in love!!
I promptly threw together my own inspo board (below) and then created a Pinterest board accordingly. I love, love, love all of the elements. I’m so happy this whole “mid century modern” meets “traditional” is a thing right now because my heart feels at home in this space.
Absolutely nothing for this remodel has been purchased (and probably won’t be for awhile) but I’ve linked to a few things below that were used in the creation of my mood board in case you too are in love!
Oh, and fun fact? These crazy color themed bathrooms seem to follow us around. The apartment we lived in the first year we were married was all kinds of purple. Sink, tub and all!
