Last week Lee (of Style Bee) and co-host Caroline (of Un-Fancy) extended the 10 x 10 fall challenge and a small, yet distinctly impulsive voice inside me screamed out, “me too!”
I started wearing my 10 pieces yesterday (so that makes today day 2) and am sharing with you the 10 pieces I will be using to curate 10 different outfits today, here on the blog. I’ll be joining not only Lee and Caroline in this challenge, but some other amazing women as well. I’ve linked up to as many bloggers/Instagram-ers as I could think of, so be sure to check them all out at the end of this post! Since I’m a little late to the party (always late Laura, always late) my plan right now is to share all of my outfits on my Instagram only over the next 10 consecutive days. Of course, I may decide to do a ’round up at the end, we’ll see how it goes!
HOW IT WORKS
Never heard of the challenge? All you do is: choose 10 items to dress with for 10 days and then create 10 different outfits over those 10 days — fun right? Tops, jackets, bottoms and shoes all count toward the 10 piece total. Accessories like: bags, hats, scarves and jewelry are fair game. Although since it’s all constructed anyway, feel free to change up the rules however you see fit!
If you want a more detailed overview check out Lee’s amazing guide or Caroline’s quick start method.
GOALS FOR THIS CHALLENGE
Lately clothes and I have had sticky relationship. Earlier this year I became acutely aware of just how deeply woven my impulsive tendencies are and how they rear their ugly head when I’m under stress: impulsive shopping being right at the top of my list of go-to stress relievers. And right now, I’m feeling stressed. Venturing out on my own to start my own business is proving extremely fulfilling, but also (deep down) it’s stressing me the heck out. I know this because I want to buy ALL OF THE THINGS. And like NOW. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about a good ‘ol 10 x 10 is that it will surely raise one’s levels of contentment with one’s closet. So here we are. My number one goal?
Be content with my ‘right now’ closet. Period.
So, let’s do this!
